WELCOME MESSAGE
FROM THE CHAIRS OF THE SIGNAL PROCESSING SYMPOSIUM
The Signal Processing Symposium is a biannual international conference that brings together students, researchers and scientists representing a broad spectrum of computer science and radio-electronics disciplines, to present their latest findings and new trends shaping future research directions in science and technology. The first SPSympo has been organized in 2003 and after 18 years it is well established and excellent forum for active participation in workshops, lectures, and scientific discussions in technical and evening sessions.
A main focus of SPSympo-2021 will be smart sensing systems that incorporate Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) for signal and image acquisition, transmission, processing and analysis in a broad range of applications covering remote sensing systems (radars, sonars, imaging, sensor networks), IoT, telemedicine, medical diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, robotics, human-system interaction, environment monitoring and space technologies.
On behalf of the Technical Program Committee we cordially invite
you to the Signal Processing Symposium 2021! Because of COVID-19
we will host the event on-line.

SPECIAL ISSUE
Selected papers will be recommended for publication in the Special Issue on Smart Sensing Systems: Algorithms and Applications in Sensors MDPI Journal (IF 3.275).
The expanded and high-quality conference papers should be expanded to the size of a research article, with at least 50% new contents.
Special Issue "Recent Advances in Signal Processing and Radar for Remote Sensing—SPSympo 2021, IRS 2021"
This Special Issue aims to present the latest research results in the field of signal processing and radar techniques that are related to remote sensing, presented among others during the Signal Processing Symposium (SPSympo), Łódź, Poland, 2021, and the International Radar Symposium (IRS), Berlin, Germany 2021. Contributions from leading experts in these fields of research will be collected and presented in this Special Issue.
YOUNG SCIENTISTS CONTEST
The Young Scientist Contest will be organized as a part of SPSympo-2021. Approved for the SPSympo-2021 presentation, and entered into the competition papers will be evaluated in terms of scientific content and presentation quality.
The best works will be distinguished with the first, second, and third prize awards.
The enrolling in the Young Scientist Contest will take place after accepting the abstracts during full registration for the conference.
To be considered for submission for "Young Scientists Contest" ALL following criteria should be fulfilled:
- Candidate should be under 35 years old at the submission close. (His/her 35th birthday should be before June 30, 2021).
- Candidate should be the first author of the paper and
- He/she should present the paper by himself/herself.
- The paper must be accepted for the Conference either for an oral or for a poster session.
